Bears & Birthdays

What’s up everyone!!

There have been some crazy times out here in Miramichi!
Funny story of the week:
We were driving to church last week when out of the blue A WILD BEAR RAN IN FRONT OF THE CAR! Oh my it was scary. Of course, me not being used to untamed animals on the road, hit on the breaks and locked the doors. I don’t know why I locked the doors-as if thinking the bear would try to get in or something… It ran off into the woods and we got a quick pic! It was hilarious and now I can say I’ve seen a wild Canadian bear 🙂
Spiritual High:
In a lesson we had this week tears were shed as talked with this man for 2 hours about how precious life is. He had thought about taking his own and was struggling to find his purpose. We testified and helped him understand God’s plan of Happiness for him. It was an experience that made me truly understand that trials are a natural part of life and through the Savior, Jesus Christ we can feel love.
A particular scripture that stuck out to him was Alma 31:31
I had such an amazing birthday this year! Thank you to everyone who sent me the kindest notes, letters, and gifts. I am truly grateful for all of you!

Wait what, it’s thanksgiving?

What a week! We had so much fun picking apples on p-day on this beautiful farm! Such a joy 🙂
We did lots of service this week and it really showed me that helping others brings so much happiness to yourself! I was felling sad earlier this week as we were being rejected over and over. The next day I said that we needed to serve, so we went to the nursing home and talk to some super cute old people and I just loved hearing all their stories! Then we helped serve food at the United Church’s soup kitchen. I just loved it so much! It made me appreciate life!
Then we did service for this man named Mr. Mcdonald. Kid you not, he has a farm and we picked potatoes! I felt like such a farmer it was hilarious! He had us over for supper and it was unbelievable! Everything came from their farm and his cute mom made it all from scratch-rolls, potatoes, gravy, beef from their cows! And to top it all off- homemade apple pie with ice cream made with cream from their cow’s milk! Wow I was in heaven!
It’s thanksgiving today here in Canada and it again reminds me of how grateful I am for life and all my blessings! Try and count all the blessings you see in your life! It makes the day SO much better and happier!
Have a blessed and grateful life!

Well hello hello!
In case you missed the superbowl of missionaries this week, here’s my 2 cents from the amazing General Conference!
General Conference happens twice a year, it is a conference held in Salt Lake City where the living Prophet, and his Apostles speak to us and share what we can do to improve ourselves 🙂
My favorite talk was from Dean M. Davies. I don’t really know why, but while I was listening to his talk on ‘worshiping’ and how we need to sincerely live what we do.
I took his idea of thinking and applied it to my life right now. Am I going through the motions of being a missionary? or am I truly serving the Lord? Do I give my all? or do it cause I have to?
I was thinking about my life (aka all I do out here in small town New Brunswick) and thought about the times when I passively spent my time doing what ever was needed of me. Then I thought about when I actively put my heart into my activities and life!
If you have the mindset that you are going to ‘worship’ each day and live it to the fullest then you are going to be SO Happy!! I tried to do this this past week and it showed! I was happier, woke up with energy, and had success as a missionary!
We had 2 people come and watch General Conference with us! They loved hearing the words of the Prophet and Apostles! What a glorious time to be alive!
I love you all SO much!
